Do you ever wonder why luffy ate gomu-gomu no mi?This is the mystery for me and I guess most of you didn't even think about it.Today, I am gonna discuss about it...Let's start with skyland.In skyisland enel was invincible and was refered to as god.But it was his devil fruit that was invincible.In Japanese community, lightning is refereed to as god.The only thing that beat the god i.e. lightning was the gomu-gomu no mi...Gorosei are also known as gods.The members of D are called the sworm enemies of god which includes luffy too.Luffy is also the only man who can defeat the god i.e. Gorosei.If you connect gorosei and lightning as one and rubber and luffy as one you will understand.Rubber and Luffy are the only defeaters of lightning and gorosei respectively..Rubber has the properties that suit luffy perfectly which is that it is immune to lightning that is also known as god.Oda decided to give luffy gomu gomu no mi to show us that luffy can defeat gorosei just like how rubber dominate lightning and will fulfill the will of D.
